CHARACTER RULES

ONE Keep OOC emotions separate from your IC posts and characters. Whatever your character feels should not and does not represent the feelings the player or character has towards you. This is a fictional RP, not a soap opera. Basically no drama between OOC members. If you have a problem with someone, keep it to yourself or battle it out off-site. Andalusian Nights will not be a war-zone for someone else's feelings towards another person.

TWO Everyone will have exactly one OOC account. This is to post apps and conduct of out of character business. Use trackers to keep track of your characters and their threads.

THREE When you create your characters, be sure that you are not imitating another character's name or personality. Your character's first and last name (in the form of lastfirst) will become their username, in order to be able to have easy-tagging of character accounts for activity, plotters, and trackers.

FOUR When it comes to editing something in your character's application, do so without complaint. Brushing off an admin's command or request will not be permitted.

FIVE Andalusian Nights is a site that uses animanga face-claims. While you are able to use face-claims from manga/anime/things of this caliber, you are also permitted to use your own original art. Whether that's commissioning someone to draw your character, there is also nothing wrong with doing it yourself.

SIX Your characters may be able to have children, as they are allowed to be married in RP (whether you actually play it out or not). However, you cannot go in detail with sex or the birth. All children under the age of eleven will remain NPC. The marriage registry is located HERE.

SEVEN Your university students must be a minimum age of sixteen, the which is the youngest you can graduate secondary/high school. They are a student until they graduate or drop out, when they then become a normal citizen. The minimum age requirement for citizens is eleven. At this age, children can be roleplayed by another player. When children turn 11, this is their first year of junior high/middle school. Legally, eighteen year olds can drink alcohol without the permission of their parent.

EIGHT Because this roleplay is focused on the University of Sofia and the surrounding city, we are not allowing in-school roleplay for high school/middle school aged children. We do allow limited office and workplace roleplay. Therefore, high school/middle school age characters should only be seen in the city after IC school hours or on the weekends under normal circumstances. On the other hand, if a school even requires the student to be out in the city, they can be roleplayed. If a character works at one of the hotspot businesses seen here {link}, they can roleplay during work hours as well. University students do not follow these restrictions.

NINE Let's talk about Mary Sues and Gary Stus. Characters should not be perfect. They should not always have horrible, stand-offish pasts and be cold/unforgiving towards others. Change it up. Give them acne scars, have them hold unnecessary grudges while being generous. Give them the nervous habit of chewing their cuticles/tearing off their nails. Make them flawed, make them kind. Switch it up.

TEN There are technically two species, and three sub-species. Shifters, the dominant population of society. Humans, the small group of humans. Sofia is the safe haven for humans, dino-shifters, ect. Nothing else but these may be played. Since humans are a small group, if there is ever a time where they are bigger than the shifter population, they will be put on hold until the shifter population is much bigger than them.

ELEVEN Shifters must have a defining characteristic of the animal they represent.

TWELVE You can make THREE free characters before you have to buy them.
