finally got around to this lol Julien was running early, but that was nothing new. He had been in the office all night, but he had a meeting with a client an hour from now.
He stepped out of the building, standing under the overhang for a moment, looking out as the rain poured. When had it started raining? They had windows in his office, of course, but he always kept his eyes glued to the screen or his paperwork.
With no umbrella, he sighed, pulling an empty folder from his bag and holding it over his head, stepping out into the rain. He supposed he could head home to change and get an umbrella before he headed to the meeting. After all, he was an hour early, and the meeting wasn't far from his apartment.
He walked along the sidewalk, trying to hail taxis, but none would stop. With a slight frown, he walked across the street, glaring at a few taxis on the way across.
His plan, perhaps, was to walk on the way home and try to hail a taxi on the way. Of course, this plan would never come to fruition. Passing an alleyway in which trash had fallen onto the sidewalk would change that.
Stepping over the trash, he turned his attention away from in front of him, and felt a sting on his leg. Looking down, a hissing cat glared up at him before scampering off into the alley. With a gulp, Julien instantly looked around. Of course it had to be a cat, of course it had to be now.
Although he was not allergic to cats, Julien thought he was. Or, something like that. Any time a cat got near, he would freak out on the inside. But now he'd been scratched. This would not do. He could die. The cat could have had rabies. There were too many risks he was not willing to take.
As a stroke of luck, a taxi finally seemed to notice him on the side of the road, pulling over to let him in. "The hospital, please. Make it quick," Julien instructed, trying to sound polite but ending up with a rushed voice.
Soon, they arrived at the hospital and, begrudgingly, he was admitted. Sitting in the examination room, he waited for someone to come and listen to his "symptoms." PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat]

With tea I will conquer Today had been exhausting. Allison had woken up late, hadn't gotten to go out for her daily jog, nearly forgot her laptop, and had mislabeled an important email to the doctor she would be shadowing this evening. She hated being late to class. Especially when it was her least favorite and most jerkish professor lecturing that morning. As bad days tend to go, it only got worse the longer it continued. By the time that she had finished her classes and walked to the hospital she was ready to lock herself in a broom closet and hide there until morning. She didn't of course. Instead she suited up in her scrubs and started her checklist. A few hours later when she was bedraggled and probably looking like an absolute mess, she had been called to the exam rooms to take vitals and go through the questions needed to figure out what they could do to help the patient. When Allison walked into the room, large brown eyes staring down at the clipboard in her hands, she didn't even look up at the man sitting on the paper covered bed. "Hello Mr. Lamarque. My name is Allison and I have a few questions to ask you before we can begin treatment for...a cat scratch?" She glanced up at the man before her to confirm the few details she had on him. And promptly lost all cognitive functions as the very tall dark haired hottie filled her vision. "Uhh." She murmured intelligently. Everything she had been about to say had flew from her mind. She couldn't even drag herself together enough to mentally shake herself. After staring at him for what might have been an hour, Allison shook her head slightly and looked away from him. I'm sorry. Can you explain to me what happened sir?" She said very fast and blushed a light pink. She refused to look up from her clipboard as she waited for the man to speak. What was wrong with me? I never acted this way. How embarrassing. She thought to herself mortified.

AHHH I TOOK SO LONG SORRY LOL Hearing the door open, Julien lifted his head to find a small girl absorbed in the clipboard. She was quite cute, he thought, but the thought went away fleetingly as she began talking to him about his symptoms. He saw her look up and pause, but paid it no mind.
"Yes, I can. You see, I was on my way to a meeting -- in fact, I need to get there quite soon. And a cat jumped out of the alleyway and attacked me." He nodded to himself. Leaning over, he grasped his pants leg, looking back up to the girl. "Do I need to show you?"
He didn't wait for her to answer, and lifted his pants leg to reveal a very surface-level scratch. Of course, that's how they got you, those cats. Their scratches didn't look harmful, but they were.
Thinking on the situation, Julien supposed he looked quite silly. What would his mother say? Put that pants leg down, young man. You know we have very important guests this evening. Then she'd kiss his forehead and continue along setting up the party. Though, he supposed he wasn't in a meeting with some executive from Saudi Arabia.
His eyes looked back up to the nurse. Well, maybe her opinion would be worth something. After all, he had donated heavy amounts to the hospital. Of course it would only make sense for her opinion to count. He cleared the thoughts in favor of not simply sitting in silence. "This simply will not do, you see. Cat scratches are very dangerous and I would prefer it not to go untreated." PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat]

All I Really Know is Life's too Short Surprise quickly over road Allison's embarrassment at staring at the stranger sitting on the exam table and holding up one pant leg of his suit. A cat scratch? He came in for a cat scratch? She thought to her self. Most people would just ignore a scratch, or maybe wash the area with soap and water before moving on with their day. For a moment she just blinked at him and wondered if he was messing with her. He seemed completely serious. This wasn't the first strange request she had even this week, but it was by far the easiest to find a solution to. She moved across the room to gather the required items such as gauze, coflex, and hydrogen peroxide. As she brought them back to the bedside table she began to ask questions and fill them in on her clipboard. "Ok sir. I can clean and bandage your wound in just a moment. I have a few questions first. Full name? Do you have any allergies? Do you have any symptoms from the scratches?" She rattled off almost absentmindedly and moved closer to look at the red lines. They weren't deep and should only take a moment to wrap up. She just had to make sure he wasn't allergic to latex before she gloved up to begin her job.

he's such an idiot He watched as she moved around the room with purpose. Medical professionals always knew exactly what to do. It was amazing to watch her move with intent and get exactly the things he needed to be healed.
"Julien Lamarque," he replied to her first question. He looked down to her nametag which read Allison, thinking it only proper to know her name as well. "No, no allergies I am aware of. And as for the scratches, well -- I have obviously felt the pain from them, but nausea is one of my symptoms. Whether that be from the fear of the little things or the cat scratch is unknown, but it is dangerous to leave it untreated, yes?" He gave his diplomatic smile to her, hoping she'd agree.
His siblings always called his fear of the felines uncalled for and irrational, but he didn't really think any fear was irrational. Especially when they gave him no rational reasons otherwise.
He then decided not to lull into awkward silence and make idle conversation, a gesture he often deemed useless. But, then, hadn't he been going against his 'rules' since he arrived? "Allison, hm? Pretty. It derives from Greek and means Truth and Kindness, doesn't it?" He nodded for a moment before continuing. "Honesty and Kindness are important virtues." PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat]
